McNichols Campus Library & Instructional Design Studio
The McNichols Campus Library is closed to the public per Governor Whitmer's Executive Order. The Executive Order, intended to help curb the spread of COVID-19 in public spaces, including libraries of all types, became effective March 16, 2020 and remains in force through March 30, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
The Executive Order allows employees to enter the library for employment purposes. Employee access to the library, including the Instructional Design Studio (IDS), will resume on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Instructional designers are available to meet with faculty in person by appointment. Please call IDS to schedule an appointment: 313-578-0580. An attendant will greet you at the entrance of the Library Teaching & Learning Center to grant access to IDS.
Online library assistance is available 24/7. Please visit us to work with your librarian for research assistance and information literacy instruction. Library faculty are working to keep you up-to-date with library help, various updates, and fact-checking resources.
A majority of the library's resources are available online. Library faculty are available to assist with access and to work with students and faculty to provide options for materials currently held in print format only.
The library will continue to provide ILL service for journal articles, book chapters, and any resources that may be provided electronically.
Student Success Center and Student Disability & Accessibility Support Services
The Student Success Center (SSC) includes Student Disability & Accessibility Support Services (SDASS). The SSC is located on the 3rd floor of the Library Teaching & Learning Center and is open to students online and in-person for drop-in sessions and by appointment.
SSC tutors will be available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. An attendant will greet you at the entrance of the Library Teaching & Learning Center to grant access to the SSC.
The SSC has created an online platform for you to access free tutoring via Blackboard. Tutors have their own "classroom" allowing you opportunities for a video conference tutoring session.
