Gentleman's Magazine

Published from 1731 to 1833, Gentleman's Magazine was the first serial publication to use the word 'magazine'  as in storehouse.  It was the Time/Newsweek/People/New York Times Book Rerview of its day.  It included the proceedings of Parliment, literary items such as poetry, and a weather almanac.  This site links to google books.

Samuel Pepys Diary

Samuel Pepys was a naval adminstrator in Restoration London.  His diary is an inportant primary source for the period.  Pepys kept his diary from 1660-1669.  It is a detailed record of his activities and observations.
